LMKC
Our sincere thanks go to all the sellers, everyone who attended and found some fantastic bargains, those who kindly donated to the raffle and cake stall, and especially to the volunteers who helped on the door, sold raffle tickets, kept the kitchen running, and assisted with setting up and clearing the hall.
It was a real team effort, and we are very grateful for the support that made the day so enjoyable and worthwhile.
On Saturday 23rd August 2025, the LMKC Family Ceilidh took place at the Kilmelford & Kilninver Village Hall. And what a fantastic night of music and dance it was!
A huge thank you goes to The Full Biscuit for keeping the energy high all evening, and to Guy for his enthusiastic (and very patient!) calling that made sure everyone could join in the fun.
We're also so grateful to everyone who helped behind the scenes: Colin on sound, Ellen and Alison in the kitchen, Jim and Philip on the door, and Drhue for the delicious sausage rolls (and helping set up the hall along with Ross, David, and Alex). Special thanks to Ross for sorting supplies and spreading the word, Sam for printing support, Alex for managing the floats, and Liz for keeping everything running smoothly.
We'd also like to acknowledge the generous support of the Carraig Ghael Wind Farm, which helped make the night possible.
Most of all, thank you to everyone who came along and supported the ceilidh. We hope you enjoyed it every bit as much as we did and we can't wait to do it all again!
Board meetings are private, but anyone wishing to raise a topic or question can do so by emailing the Secretary, or by filling in the form on the Contact page.
In spite of the unwelcoming weather, we had a good turnout of 15 enthusiastic volunteers, and cleared much rubbish and timber from the shore.
The changes were approved, and the revised articles can be found on the About page.
There was a public meeting, where we described the current status and what we have been doing, followed by splitting into small groups to discuss the range of possible projects that members wanted the company to become involved in. Many useful ideas and much input was generated.
Then followed the AGM, at which we looked at the state of finances, and elected three new Directors.
As before, the hard-working team organising the sale had attracted over 20 sellers who had arranged their tables with their wares or items they no longer wanted, or even a mixture of both. Many generous local businesses had donated fantastic raffle prizes and when LMKC's Chairman Stuart Cannon drew the winning tickets, there were a lot of happy winners gladly claiming their prizes.
All day the wonderful team in the kitchen worked hard to provide tea and coffee, sandwiches and many homemade cakes and biscuits at a very reasonable price. Locals and visitors from further afield welcomed the chance to catch up with friends and purchase some bargains ranging from garden tools, clothes, toys, bric a brac, candles, coffee and bird food.
After expenses, nearly £900 was raised and divided between the Hall Association and LMKC.
